Nuri Shakoor, an ambassador for the Institute for Economics and Peace and founder of the nonprofit ARAC International Inc., is a dedicated advocate for human rights, peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and public safety. As a former U.S. government contractor, he brings valuable experience to his mission to advance Positive Peace. Nuri is a certified Security Risk Management Professional (SRMP-C) at the country level and an active member of the International NGO Safety and Security Association (INSSA).


Currently, Nuri's primary projects include serving as an independent researcher and security risk analyst partnered with IOSI Global Consultancy, a renowned international think tank. The consultancy specializes in developing innovative solutions to address both existing and emerging threats, working towards the advancement of public safety, international security, peace-building, and human rights across public, private, humanitarian, and civil society sectors. Nuri's affiliation with IOSI Global began through a partnership with ARAC International, a nonprofit data research and security risk management consultancy registered with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).


Nuri's primary focus at ARAC revolves around armed conflict and context analysis for the purpose of peacebuilding to support humanitarian initiatives in Africa. He collaborates strategically with various international organizations aligned with the global Sustainable Development Goals and the U.S. Global Fragility Act (US GFA), playing a crucial role in shaping research and solutions in these regions.


In addition to his work with NGOs and non-profit organizations, Nuri is a cybersecurity/insider threat risk management consultant and OpenAI solutions provider for Lladner Business Solutions, LLC. In this role, he not only assists organizations in protecting their data by raising awareness about insider threats, but also demonstrates his versatility by developing and deploying AI solutions to assist NGOs and civil society organizations with framework development, risk assessments, research, training, and SDG support.


Nuri holds certifications from prestigious institutions including the U.S. Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights, the Center for Development of Security and Excellence (CDSE), The Basel Institute on Governance, the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3). These certifications exemplify Nuri's professionalism and unwavering dedication to his field.
